Carvajal Scores Winning Penalty in Final Against Croatia

Spain have won their first UEFA Nations League title after beating Croatia 5-4 on penalties in the final on Sunday.

The match finished 0-0 after extra time, with both teams having chances to win it in normal time. Spain had the better of the chances, with Dani Olmo hitting the post in the first half and Ferran Torres having a goal ruled out for offside in the second half.

Croatia also had their chances, with Andrej Kramaric going close on a couple of occasions. But in the end, it was Spain who prevailed on penalties.

Dani Carvajal scored the winning penalty, sending Dominik Livakovic the wrong way with a delightful chip. It was a fitting way for Spain to win their first major trophy in 13 years.

The victory is a major boost for Spain coach Luis Enrique, who has been under pressure after a disappointing World Cup campaign last year.

Spain will now be looking to build on this success and challenge for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
